Welcome to the WePOWER
Result-Sharing System

WePOWER is a vibrant network of energy sector utilities and stakeholders in South Asia. It supports women's participation in energy projects and institutions and promotes normative change regarding women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education, based on the premise that gender equality leads to better development outcomes. The Network contributes to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 7 (Affordable & Clean Energy).

WePOWER was founded in 2019 and more Partners join WePOWER every year. WePOWER Partners set targets to support women's participation in the energy sector and share their achievements on a biannual basis. WePOWER is supported by the World Bank and ESMAP.

About the system

WePOWER is a SAR Regional Professional Network for women in the energy sector. We developed the new Result-Sharing System to optimize our regular Monitoring and Evaluation Process. It is a crucial facet of WePOWER. Partners can set gender targets and share their results on a bi-annual basis within the Strategic Five Pillars. These results are aggregated to show the on-the- ground impact of WePOWER partners to improve women’s participation in the Energy Sector. The system also aims to help the “WePOWER goes global”-facet, to expand the network activities all over the world.

WePOWER Engagement Framework

WePOWER Partners share their achievements and challenges so that they can learn from each other. Sharing the aggregated data inspires WePOWER Partners to contribute to WePOWER'S mission: to increase the number of women in the South Asian energy sector.

WePOWER activities are organized under five strategic pillars. Our partners set their gender activity targets each year by creating a List of Activities (LoAs). This result-sharing system will help in aggregating and analyzing the commitments and achievements of WePOWER Partners.

Please visit our website to learn more about our Partner's activities or download the latest WePOWER report.

Structure of the WePOWER Result-Sharing System

The system is based on four steps:

  • The WePOWER Interim-Secretariat registers each new WePOWER Partner.
  • The WePOWER Partner set their gender activity targets once a year.
  • WePOWER Partners share their results twice a year. This includes feature stories, which are used in WePOWER's communication channels to showcase Partner's achievements and solve common challenges.
  • The aggregated Partner's targets and results will be publicly shared.
